Jasmine K. Holthaus

Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA)
English Studies

I am currently an PhD student in the Rhetoric and Composition track for English studies at the University of Kansas (KU). I received my MA in Rhetoric and Composition in 2023 and my B.S.E in Secondary English Education in 2020, both from KU; I also received my A.A.S (Associates of Applied Science) in Interactive Media from Johnson County Community College in 2013.  My current research interests include Science and Technology Studies (Namely Algorithms, AI, and Posthumanism), as well as digital and media studies. One of my goals is to study the intersection of multimedia and multimodal texts within the composition classroom, as well as analyzing algorithmic bias in a socio-cultural sense.
